When daddy was growing up my favorite holiday of the year was 4th of July. Almost every year Grandpa Jerre and I would get a bag full of Black Cat firecrackers and set them off all day long. The 100th one was always just as fun as the 1st one. We would light them in every imaginable...in pop cans, butter containers, shoe boxes, under a pile of rocks, on top of a pile of rocks...and any other way we could come up with. Then we would shoot the bottle rockets, that is when the fun really began!
Cy, it seems like 4th of July is going to be your favorite holiday too. Yesterday we had so much fun celebrating. We had about 20 friends over and we spent all night swimming, lighting firecrackers, swimming, lighting more firecrackers, eating, laughing...and more swimming. Cy your skin was like a raisin when you finally got out of the pool...you were in for about 4 hours. Watch out Michael Phelps is all I can say.
We ended the night by watching North Port Fireworks. We literally had the best seat in town. The show is at North Port High School which is only about 2 blocks from our house, so all of us gathered on the lanai to watch the show. They were very loud, but Cy watched until the Grande Finale was over.
I am already looking forward to next 4th of July. Cy might be ready for a sparkler by then.
